The two year Post Graduate Degree programme, MBA: Banking Technology is offered jointly by the School of Management and The Ramanujan School of Mathematics and Computer Science through the Department of Banking Technology from the academic year 2005-2006 with an intake of 30 students. The UGC has sanctioned this programme under its Innovative/Interdisciplinary schemes during 10th plan.


            The need for the programme arose in response to the large amount of diversification and professionalization taking place in the financialsystem of the country. It is further fueled by emergence of IT and IT enabled applications in almost all aspects of financial dealings in

applications in almost all aspects of financial dealings in less than a decade’s time in our country. To suffice the emerging and contemporary needs, the programme aims at producing managers required to manage tech embodied financial institutions and associate with flagship IT industry to develop domain specific IT products / IT solutions for ever surging finance and banking industry which is in its threshold of global reach.


AIMS AND OBJECTIVES:

This specialized inter-disciplinary programme is primarily focused on developing manpower with know-how and know-why skills required for managing technology used in the banking and financial industry. More specifically, this programme is aimed at:

 • Imparting skills and knowledge required to manage modern business enterprises involved in providing Finance and Banking solutions.

• Designing and developing learning skills in the fields of data management, data warehousing, information gateways, finance networks, e-commerce, information security, IT laws and cyber crimes in addition to strategies involved implementing computer networks, IT infrastructure management and information system audit
• Providing  the  basic  knowledge  on  the  working  of      financial markets,   banking    operation,  stock  market   operations, ForexMarket, Capital flows, arbitrage operation and derivative instruments, working of Euro Currency market for possible global exposure on the working of Financial Networks.
