The Council functions under a scheme of the University Grants Commission. The Council serves as the liaison body in between the affiliated colleges and the University Grants Commission and other national level bodies like AICTE; NCTE; Dental Council of India and Medical Council of India. The Council regulates the affiliation of the affiliated colleges. It takes care of the sanction regarding the strength of the students, courses and other related activities of the affiliated colleges. It also regulates the project proposals of the faculty members in the affiliated colleges. The Council also attends to the students welfare activities and also acts as advisor to the international students of the University.
